How do you know it’s gonna be everything you wish for? What is it that you truly wish for? Success? Freedom? Independence? We only wish what we cannot have right? What if when you get there you miss this? This safety here, with the few people in your life who wanted to stay for you. The safety you pushed away because you want to swim to a different world. When you’re in an unknown place, living with strangers, rewriting your personality, your story —
Will you miss this version of you?
You chase that dream life because you think if you get there you’ll finally love yourself. You’ll finally understand that your life meant something. Because you didn’t feel that love back home. But sweetheart, what if that dream doesn’t do it either? What if your heart is still broken, still lonely in its solitude when you’ve accomplished everything you dreamt of. What if when you finally stop running, you look around and you find nothing, no one to share that life with? You love the chase darling not the dream. You’re so scared of failing in this moment that you run away. You hide from opportunities, from people. Because there’s that teeny tiny chance that you might hurt someone who comes close to you. And you don’t want to add to that list.
Don’t run. Stay here. Stay here and slow down and learn to love. Yourself. Learn to listen to the whispers your heart makes. Don’t let him go, don’t let them leave. Fight for your soul, fight for your love. If you want to give them a reason to stay, ask them first. Ask them to stay. Ask yourself to stay.
